Missions & Bible

Local Groups

Mt. Olive is active in the communities of Dripping Springs and Austin, Texas. Below are some of the local activities we support.

MOWIM

2nd Saturday of the month from 9:30am to 11:00am - Conference Room

"Mt. Olive Women In Mission" is a society at Mt. Olive Lutheran Church that is part of the "Lutheran Women's Missionary League" — a national organization of women of the Lutheran Church — Missouri Synod.  We women at Mt. Olive work together to serve our Lord by serving others.  We serve in several ways: we make quilts each year and give them along with other collected items to Lutheran World Relief where they go around the world to help those in need; we collect items and donate them to the New Life Center at New Braunfels — a home for girls that is run by Lutheran Social Services; we support several local organizations including the Austin and Dripping Springs food pantries, youth mission opportunities, and spiritual renewals through retreats for the women of the church.  We also participate in mission opportunities through the LWML Capitol Zone and the LWML Texas District both of which we are associated.  All women of Mt. Olive are invited to be involved in all the activities of "MOWIM" — our acronym for Mt. Olive Women In Mission. For more information, please email Lynel Werchan at lkwerchan@gmail.com.

Did you know that Mt. Olive has had its own Cub Scout Pack for almost 40 years?

Teaching boys skills for a lifetime!
Fun. Adventure. Values. Cub Scouting is fun, but it also develops character and values. Scouting is the most proven and successful youth service program in American history. Scouting stands for honesty, integrity, character, and courage. It encourages young people and adults to become leaders and make their world a better place. Give us a little time, and we'll give you experiences and memories that you'll treasure for the rest of your life. We invite you to contact us to find out how your family can join ours.

Scouts, Pack 446: From September through May, the Scouts have a Den Meeting at Mt. Olive's Fellowship Hall on Tuesdays from 6pm to 7pm, and their Pack Meeting is here the 3rd Thursday of the month at 6:30pm. Please see below for Pack 446 Events. Please contact Wayne Branagh at wbranagh@austin.rr.com with any questions or for more information about any of these events or visit www.pack446.org.
